Donner Lake
Nestled
in the valley just below Donner Summit. This is a popular lake for summer
recreation. Access to Sugar Bowl and other
Donner Summit ski areas are easily accessed from Old Highway 40 at the
west end. Commercial zones are located in the north and west ends of
the Lake. Part of the infamous Donner Party had set up camp on the northeast
corner of the lake.

access to Truckee, moderately priced homes between the lake and
I-80. Lakefront homes are typically
on small parcels. |

West Shore – An
old Donner Lake community can be truly inviting in this neck of
the woods. Many of the small homes and cabins are
used primarily in summer. A nice homeowner sandy beach and picnic
area is available. |

South Shore – Has
some outstanding examples of older lakefront homes. Well protected
from the prevailing wind. High winter snow
area and shy on the sun factor. |
